Marvin Window’s new Infinity from Marvin Series are premium quality replacement windows made of Ultrex fiberglass. Ultrex is the ultimate window material—it’s 8x stronger than vinyl, 3.5x stronger than wood, has 500x the insulation factor of aluminum and won’t discolor, warp, rot, crack corrode, dent, chalk or fade. Fiberglass windows also expand and contract at the same rate as glass, so the two different materials aren’t working against each other. What this means is that tolerances can be tighter, with smaller gaps, so your new replacement windows will be as airtight as you can get with modern windows.
Marvin processes fiberglass into very strong construction-grade materials—Ultrex fiberglass, which is used to create Infinity window frames. Fiberglass is highly resistant to decay, has about the same expansion rate as glass and does not allow moisture penetration and requires minimal maintenance. The strength of Ultrex allows Marvin to manufacture larger windows with smaller frames – meaning more visible glass area for you to enjoy the view and additional light.
An important consideration of replacement windows is the ratio of frame size to glass. Relatively weak materials, such as vinyl, require larger frames to help to prevent them from sagging, twisting or going ‘out of square’. Of course, as the frame grows larger, the amount of glass, view and all other benefits and reasons to have a window are reduced.
The exteriors of Infinity by Marvin windows are finished with a special painted coating that requires no additional finish. Available in stone white, pebble gray, cashmere, sierra white, and bronze, the factory finish won’t peel, crack, chip or fade. Unlike vinyl and aluminum, Infinity exteriors readily accept paint, allowing you to coordinate the window color to your home.
The interiors of Infinity by Marvin windows are finished with a beautiful inorganic material called ‘EverWood’ that looks, feels and stains like wood. Unlike wood, EverWood doesn’t warp, absorb moisture, discolor or degrade over time. EverWood is simple to stain, and it’s easy to match any wood color, simplifying your ability to match new windows to the existing woodwork.
Cleaning Infinity by Marvin windows is simplified by allowing you to tilt the windows into the room. The following describes how to clean a double hung window:
Unlock and raise the sash slightly Depress the tilt release button and slide the lock lever over the button Tilt the sash into the room for easy cleaning without screen removal
To maximize energy efficiency, Infinity from Marvin series windows come standard with Low E II insulating glass. Argon gas is available to further improve energy efficiency. This eye toward energy conservation has resulted in windows exceeding the standards required to qualify them for the U.S. Department of Energy and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Energy Star program. They also qualify for Energy Trust of Oregon rebates without expensive upgrades. Infinity by Marvin windows also qualify for the U.S. Government’s Energy Tax Credit. Owners of these windows can download and submit the manufacturer’s certificate to participate.
