John Schwager, born here and raised in North Portland grew up building and creating in his father’s basement woodshop. When he was ten years old, he made a map puzzle of the United States with every state in a different wood species, finely sanded and fitted together. At sixteen he went to work for a small window company in NE Portland, and without realizing it at the time, he was already on his path, so to speak. He has worked as an installer/carpenter and estimator, and then for the last 19 years he has been the owner of Accurate Window and Door. Married for 20 years with three children, John enjoys camping and working on remodeling projects. He is also mechanic to his son’s go-kart career. About the business he says, “I am committed to taking good care of my customers like they are part of my family.”
Barb Haluschak holds down the fort, with 37 years’ experience in bookkeeping and accounting and 6 years’ experience in the window industry, she greets Accurate showroom customers. She received a Certificate of Recognition for completing Milgard University training and took the plant tour and training at Marvin Window. She is very knowledgeable on the features of our vinyl, fiberglass, and wood products and can answer questions and gather information for customers. She has also had extensive training in customer database management software and Market$harp, through Market$harp Online University.
Chris Swanberg, a native Oregonian born and raised in NE Portland, graduated from Portland State University where he received a BS in Communications. He and his wife Tammy became first time parents in March of 2008 to their son Alex (the coolest kid ever). In his free time Chris enjoys a number of outdoor activities which include, snowboarding, mountain biking and fishing.
Brandon Severn, born and raised in SW Portland, currently resides in SE. He previously worked as a door hanger/finish carpenter for six years before joining the Accurate team. His seven-year old little girl is the primary focus of his free time, along with volunteering at his faith-based community church. He also enjoys home projects and reading.
Sam Law, born and raised in Yuba City CA, was home-schooled. His father is a painting contractor and he grew up in the painting business. Working on lots of remodels with his dad, he has worked in just about every trade. He enjoys cooking and working with his hands. Married, their first child was born March 31, 2009. Sam is very involved with his church youth group as a leader and sings on the worship team there.
